Sharing a Chat

Create a link to a conversation's summary or full transcript, so someone else can pick it up where you left off.

Overview

Any chat can be turned into a Shareable Context Link — a link that, when pasted into someone else's chat, hands Cosmo the context of your conversation so they can continue it instead of starting from scratch.

Open Share from a chat session to create one.

Choosing what to share

ModeWhat it contains
Summarized ContextAn AI-generated summary of the conversation, which you can edit before sharing.
Whole ConversationThe full transcript, exactly as it happened. Only available for a brand-new chat with nothing sent yet.

Sharing the whole conversation includes everything discussed — you're asked to confirm before it's shared, since it may contain more than a summary would.

Who can open it

  • Specific people — pick org members by name. Only they (and you) can open the link.
  • Anyone in this org — any member of your organization who has the link can open it.

You can also set the link to expire after 7 days, 30 days, or never.

Paste a share link into any chat's message box and send it. Cosmo resolves the link and adds its content to that message — the recipient sees a Context added card they can expand to review exactly what was shared, who shared it, and when the link expires.

A whole-conversation link can only be pasted into a brand-new chat, since it's meant to continue that conversation from the start, not sit alongside an unrelated one.

Connector awareness

If the shared conversation used a connected integration, the context card also lists which ones under Connectors used:

  • Connectors marked (personal) — like Gmail or Outlook/Microsoft 365 — return different data depending on which account is connected. If you continue the conversation, make sure your own account is connected before assuming you're picking up where the original conversation left off.
  • Unmarked connectors — like Jira, Slack, or ClickUp — return the same underlying data no matter who's connected, so there's nothing to double-check there.

The Share dialog lists every link you've created for a session, each with a status:

StatusMeaning
ActiveWorking — can be copied, rotated, or revoked.
ExpiredPast its expiry date. No longer works, and can't be rotated back to life.
RevokedTurned off by you.
  • Copy link copies the URL.
  • Rotate replaces an active link's token, invalidating the old one — useful if a link was shared with the wrong person.
  • Revoke turns the link off for good.

Revoking or letting a link expire only affects future attempts to open it — content already pasted into someone's chat stays there, since it was already delivered.
