Cosmo supports multiple intuitive drag-and-drop gestures across the workspace to make organization, file uploading, and task tracking frictionless.
Workspaces Gestures
Reordering Workspaces
You can easily customize the order in which workspaces appear within their respective team groups in the left sidebar.
- Gesture: Click and hold the drag handle (represented by the vertical grip
⋮⋮icon on hover) on a workspace sidebar item. - Action: Drag the workspace up or down within the team group.
- Drop: Release over the workspace you want to place it next to. The order is automatically saved on the server.
Moving Workspaces Between Teams
If an initiative changes scope, you can transfer a workspace from a personal context to a shared team (or vice-versa).
- Gesture: Grab the workspace's drag handle.
- Action: Drag it over the target team header (e.g., the title of the team in the sidebar).
- Drop: Release the workspace. It will move to the target team and appear at the end of its workspace list.
Tasks & Artifacts Gestures
Moving Tasks to Workspaces
You can move tasks directly from your task dashboard into any specific workspace to scope their context.
- Gesture: Click and drag a task row from your task view.
- Action: Move it over the target workspace item in the sidebar.
- Drop: Release the task. The workspace will be highlighted on hover. Once dropped, the task will be immediately assigned to that workspace.
Moving Artifacts to Workspaces
To organize documents and other outputs, you can move artifacts between workspaces.
- Gesture: Drag an artifact row from the Hub canvas list.
- Action: Hover it over a target workspace in the sidebar.
- Drop: Release it. The artifact metadata and its corresponding blob content will be securely moved to the target workspace.
File Upload Gestures
OS File Drop Uploads
Cosmo makes importing text, markdown, or media files as simple as dragging them from your computer's file manager (Finder on macOS, File Explorer on Windows).
- Gesture: Select one or more files from your operating system.
- Action: Drag them directly over the sidebar workspace item you want to upload to.
- Drop: Release the files. The workspace tile will highlight, and Cosmo will automatically read the file contents and create new artifacts inside that workspace.
